What is your typical timeline?
SJD’s typical timeline for each project is 8-12 weeks before your desired mailbox date. We will account for 4-6 weeks for the design process and final approvals before we account for an additional 4-6 weeks for production. Please keep in mind that we have a production calendar filled with projects to prioritize so we will rarely adjust this timeline without a probable cause. Please communicate your desired mailbox date upfront if you have a particular one in mind.
What is your proof approval process?
For the initial round of design, I will send over a PDF of the design options. From there you will decide on the design direction you would like to move forward with. I will then put any edits into a formal proof review where you can see the individual elements of the suite and ensure all colors, text, and design is as you want it!
Do you handle mailing?
SJD handles all design and production of your suite from start to finish. Your suite will be digitally guest addressed or hand-scripted in Sarah’s unique hand per your selection. All suites are assembled and mailed for our clients at no additional cost. Clients do have the option to have the assembled suites packaged and mailed to them for a fee.
Can I purchase a digital copy of my custom artwork?
SJD offers clients the option to purchase artwork releases for the custom artwork should they be interested in using the art on items SJD is not equipped to produce. All typical day-of goods will be handled by our studio to ensure brand consistency and quality. SJD retains copyright of all artwork created and can be used at the studio’s discretion.
Do you offer different script options?
No, all script from SJD is hand-calligraphed by Sarah. We do not use script fonts in our work. SJD is truly set apart in creating you one-of-kind stationery. This also goes for printed addressing on envelopes; we only offer serif fonts for this addressing option. If you would like script for your addressing, you will need to add hand calligraphy addressing to your proposal.
Can i send you a design I purchased to be incorporated into the suite?
No, SJD does not allow the use of other artist’s work in stationery produced by SJD. This goes for venue illustrations, hand calligraphy addressing, etc. SJD gets 90% of our business from photos online and when you start to mix artist’s work, it can be misleading what we can and cannot produce for future clients. But rest assured, SJD can do just about anything!
Do you offer elevated printing styles like letterpress and foil?
Yes! We have a trusted relationship with an east coast specialty printer to offer luxury printing styles.
What are your office hours?
Our office hours are M-F 8:30am-5:30pm EST. We will not respond to messages on the weekend. We also have a 48 hour turnaround for responses as Tuesdays and Thursdays are our production days and we are naturally away from the computer while we put together beautiful suites!
